As some of you may or may not know, I have my own shoe line together with my sister. I mentioned several posts back in the beginning of the year that I might blog about snippets of my shoe life starring my own brand, Sala Chaussures. I thought it would be fun to give an inside peek at some aspects of my shoe life - specifically when we wear test prototypes. When I say "wear-testing a prototype", it means that we had already come up with a design, presented it to our shoemakers then had them make a sample. Once it's done, we take the final masterpiece out ourselves for a spin and see if we want to go ahead with production and selling. We also test for possible structural or design changes of the shoe. (i.e. does it hurt to walk in? Do we need to make the straps or bows longer or shorter? etc...)
I kind of had a craving (yes I get shoe cravings!) for some fluff for some reason - fluffy mules to be exact. I was not even sure if I was going to go into production with it, I kind of just really wanted it so bad. That's one of the fun parts of my job - I get to keep all the samples regardless if we produce and sell them or not. Yes they may turn out nicely, but we also need to evaluate if it's something that people will actually buy vs. if it's a style that's just there to tickle our fancies. Based on the final product on this one, I think it's more on the latter. I think that it's something that I will keep for myself (for now) and decide later as I'll have fun with it first and see what outfits I can come out with it.
The outfit that I feel like looks best with fluffy shoes is the 'ol white top and blue jeans combo. I swear this is my go to outfit for any pair of shoes. This particular look really makes the shoes all the more wearable. It would also probably go with some dresses and some cropped pants and a nice top.
What do you guys think? Do you think we should go ahead with production of this style? What would you wear with fluffy shoes?
