Outfit Breakdown : Busting Out That Vintage Disco Collar

With all the style and fashion vlogs I've been watching, a few mentioned this so called "disco 70s collar" that's apparently going to be huge for spring. I thought it was a pretty interesting trend that had vintage roots and I made a mental note to look out for them. The next day while browsing through my closet, I was surprised to discover that I actually had several of these already! I've mentioned a few times in this blog that a few years ago, we found a box of clothes that used to belong to my grandmother. I just realized now that the blouses that I picked up fromthat box all had these disco collars! I never knew! I've been wearing them for years and it's only now that I know what they are! Disco collars are ones that are more exaggerated than normal collars. They are longer and pointier and some droop down or extend out to the sides.

I've been wanting to style this orange vintage top for a while now and this collar is the kind that extends on to the sides. This orange color is something I normally would not really wear but I still felt gravitated to pull it out from the box nevertheless. It's a good think I did because I do love a styling challenge! I thought it went perfectly well with these white high waist paper bag shorts and cinched with a belt. I felt like the gold detail of the belt complemented the orange pretty well! I wore my black Audrey flats from my shoe line Sala Chaussures as the top features some black patterns and I thought it rounded up the whole look pretty well. Topped it off with a vintage looking pair of sunglasses to complete the whole look! What do you guys think of disco collars?
