If on Mondays I wear, modern Filipiniana pieces, then on Thursdays, it shall be for thrifted outfits!! I have always loved thrift shopping since my university days and during the pandemic I discovered online thrifting which makes it so convenient! And so, have actually been thrifting waaay more in the last 5 years. Every single thing in this outfit except for the shoes and sunglasses are thrifted!
The scarf that I tied around the bag was a really old find from a physical thrift shop - I honestly cannot even remember where and when, the bag is woven and its actually made of leather! And it costs around 500 pesos which is around 8 dollars in today's exchange rate. I got it at one of those places they call "Japan Surplus Shops" which I am sure are all over the cities in the Philippines These are old and some vintage stuff from Japan that come this way to the Philippines and they seriously have some of the best gems! My brooches are also from there and they always have a treasure trove of accessories. The brooches are all around 50-100 pesos each (less than 2 dollars). I have even gotten a chest of vintage looking drawers to house all my accessories! They also have a lot of pretty houseware. I absolutely love all my finds from all these Japan Surplus shops! Look around your city - you might just be able to find one! they really have a lot of treasures.
