The Many Ways To Style And Wear A Long Green Pleated Skirt : 10 Outfit Ideas

I got this long green Mango pleated skirt a few weeks back and it looked really chic and elegant on the model. And while it did look great when I finally saw it in the flesh, I couldn't help but be reminded of my school girl uniform. I went to a Catholic all girls school and for 13 years wore a skirt that had almost the exact same pleated style and also the almost exact shade of green. Of course, our skirts were a lot shorter (at least mine were! haha) and we wore it with socks and a blouse with a bow (for elementary) and a tie (for high school). While I do not have anything against my old uniform, I just didn't really want to wear something that reminded me of what I wore as young girl in school! I believed though that this skirt has potential, thus didn't return it and tried to style as best as I could to make it look as elegant and as less of a school girl look. I found 10 different outfits and have filed it into into my series of The Many Ways To Style and Wear.

Read on to get some outfit ideas for a long green pleated skirt!

Outfit 1
For a fun and casual but still chic look, I wore it with a plain white top and cinched my waist with a white belt. I then paired it all with my Sala Chaussures marigold mules.

Outfit 2
I've been so inspired by Letizia's easy breezy but super elegant Spanish style lately and I noticed she's been wearing a lot of espadrilles and once with a long pleated skirt! I figured they looked good together and so I tried it out. These espadrilles are also coincidentally from Spain - my sister got them for me more than ten years ago! Espadrilles from Spain are one of the best in the world!

Outfit 3
Wearing a sleeveless top and flats would make this skirt super casual and everyday. I just added a belt to cinch the waist and some gold drop earrings! My shoes are our "Swandal" style from my brand Sala Chaussures.

Outfit 4
I though some blue would look great against the green so I dug out this vintage top of my grandmother's. I tied it at the waist as I feel like it made the overall look cute and not so stuffy and frumpy versus if I tucked it in or let it hang loose. I finished the whole look with fun pink slides from Sala Chaussures.

Outfit 5
For an evening look I paired with stilettos and a trapeze shaped blouse.

Outfit 6
This is definitely one of my favorite looks so far! I didn't expect the effect to come out like this - I had originally planned for it to look like a loose-dress-over-pants-kinda-outfit. However, once I put this fitted black dress over, I felt Like I created a new formal looking two-toned dress! I love seeing the pleated skirt just barely peaking out from under! It looks like it's the trimming of a nice long dress! I would love to wear this to someone's wedding sometime! I finished it off with me odette heels from Sala Chaussures.

Outfit 7
I really love how blue looks great against green so I pulled another shade of it to pair with the skirt. This top was a thrifted find and I love the shape and the super thin stripes! I thought it looked perfect with the pleated greens.

Outfit 8
I dug out another vintage blouse from my grandmother and again tied it at the waist to make it fun and casual!

Outfit 9
Another elegant hack is to make any outfit monochromatic. I paired it this time with a top in another shade of green and some champagne colored  heels!

Outfit 10
I thought I would add another pop of color by way of shoes. I love how the bright orange looked against the green. I finished it off with just a neutral top and this snakeskin print belt!
