Outfit Breakdown : Bringing Back The Sash Belt

Back when we were teens, my sister and I used to loooove wearing scarves as belts! When I look at photos (photos that are still in print!) in the early 2000s, I see that we wore them pretty much all the time. One time, my sister styled me in an all white outfit and tied a black sash that had turquoise flowers just above my waist. That was one of my favorite outfits ever! We would both also wear scarves around our jeans all the time. We would wear them with a simple white tee, jeans and some interesting shoes. This outfit combo was quite the uniform for us back in the day. Today, I don't see it being styled so much in outfits but I think that they are still pretty and timeless!

I felt the urge to style another "at home outfit with a scarf belt. For this look, I broke up a monochromatic dark blue ensemble featuring shorts and a mock neck top. The scarf is a really old one that I actually hardly ever wear because I always felt like it never went with anything. But now that I see that it looks great as a sash belt, I'm looking forward to styling it up some more in future outfits. I finished the look with a random plain black velvet head band and my Sala Chaussures Audrey flats.
