I have this ardent passion for pursuing locally made and designed products - especially when it comes to fashion so I guess it makes perfect sense that I shall be making this year's gift guide all local! I think it's great to support smaller and more independent brands and artisans as you will find a lot more unique items that are all most probably handmade. I also wish for lists like these when I travel abroad so I can discover smaller and more independent brands when I visit a new country! So I hope this list will also reach out to those coming to the Philippines in search of local indie brands! Check it out!
1. Sala Chaussures
Of course I couldn't start my list without my beloved shoe line. This year we teamed up with Deedoe Design for an exclusive design for Christmas cards. Every shoe purchase comes with a FREE Christmas card.
2. Oi Mooi!
A very well curated and small earrings shop, I've been getting a lot of my earrings from here this year! They are so affordable too.
This is a sustainable bag brand where they utilize scraps to make their bags into such nice designs. I bought my first two bags from them just this year and I've worn them already in so many outfits!
I have seen a lot of new Filipino makeup brands crop up lately! I think a lot of them are really good too. This brand is all over Tiktok and is talked a lot by many influencers and I tried my first product (the Browlift Collection) and they seem to have many more nice products that went viral. They are super affordable too and I can't wait to try more from them, as well as from other Filipino beauty brands too.
Another local earring brand that I've been buying a lot from this year! All of this are designed and made in the Philippines and I love the tropical vice and the unique designs. They are also very affordable!
6.
Anthill Fabric Gallery
This is a CEBU based clothing brand that utilizes local weaves! I love their designer like designs and have purchased a couple of items from them through the years. They also have smaller items that are ideal for gifts like bagtags, homeware and accessories!
Another locally made beauty brand that I've been seeing all over social media! I heard that their TLC Spray (restorative Facial Mist) is a great product and I've already added it into my cart for 12.12! Perfect timing - today is December 12 so you can add it in to for some discounts! I am also trying their all around flush which is supposed to be a multi use tint (for eyes, cheeks and lips!) I love the packaging and also even love it more that it is super affordable!
I think that if you are from the Philippines you would be familiar with this! Kultura is actually found in all SM malls and they've been known to sell a lot of Filipino made products and handicrafts. I have noticed lately that they have started to house a lot more of the smaller and locally made brands (ones that I've been following and buying from on Instagram!). Kultura has become this great one-stop shop for a LOT of goodies from different brands and makers. There is a a great balance of homeware, fashion, accessories, beauty and even food items all under one roof! You can also shop online if you can't make it to their physical stores!
9.
Zarah Juan
One of my favourite finds this year has got to be this Pineapple bag from Zarah Juan! She has the most unique and cute designs! It would be one of the best gifts ever!
Hope you guys got some good gift ideas from this list and also discovered some awesome Philippine made brands. I also would love to check it out if you have lists from more indie makers and brands from your own countries as well. Please leave a link in the comments so I can check it out!
Wishing everyone a very safe and Happy Christmas!
