Outfit Breakdown : Wearing One of My Most Favorite Thrifted Tops And A Brooch Party

Life Is A Shoe's Outfit Breakdown

It's been a while since I did an outfit breakdown and now that I finally have better lighting and setting for my OOTD pics, I thought I would bring it back more regularly! I'm wearing a thrifted top that is absolutely one of my favorites! It doesn't have any brand or anything, I just really, really like it for some reason. This top has probably already  appeared more than once in this blog and my Instagram account - I just really like it that much!

I love the color - it's in a dark navy blue and I especially love the tiny white vertical pinstripes running down it. The shape of the top is also one of my favorite aspects - it looks boxy yet still has a cool "structured" shape. The sleeves also fall perfectly down my shoulders and across my arms. I feel like it's a top with really good proportions and is in a perfectly timeless style. It's one of those tops that I will wear over and over again a probably never give up!

I paired it with brown pants (just from Zara) and what I call my "Brooch Parties". I wrote a whole blog post on brooches a few months ago where I featured the  many ways to style them. This one is in the form of a brooch party and it's basically just  exactly what I did just here :  gathering lots of brooches and wearing them all at once. This time, I made use of all my brooches that don't have gold undertones (because it seems almost all my brooches are in gold tones!). I am super pleased with how it turned out and it look great placed against the backdrop of my favorite thrifted top. I then finished the look with some plain navy colored pumps.
