The Many Ways To Style And Wear : 11 Outfit Ideas For A Terno Top

I finally got a terno top! I've been coveting it for the longest time. For those that don't know what a "terno" is, it usually refers to a traditional formal dress for women in the Philippines. Its distinctive feature are these butterfly, sort of flat and stiff looking puffed up sleeves - some are actually higher and bigger and more exaggerated. Over the past years, I've been so happy to see that a lot of local Philippine brands and designers have been making versions that can be worn everywhere and not just in a formal setting. They have also made just top versions and I absolutely love these! You can totally wear them with just jeans or shorts or incorporate them into any casual (but glamsual!) outfit! Mine is made from local weaves in these gorgeous combination of colors.

Though the terno has casual versions, it still is a rather statement top - with the puffed up butterfly sleeves and also the different colors and weaves used on it. I'm determined to wear this more than once though and I found that there were so many outfit combinations for it!

I love shopping and hauls as much as any girl, but like I mentioned, sometimes having too much stuff is overwhelming and I sometimes just like to shop my closet and dream up of new ways to wear one piece. I have always been a big believer that everything you own can be worn more times than once and also styled in more ways than one. You mustn't be worried that you are looking like you repeat the exact same outfit because there are always, always new ways to make each repeated piece look new again. Thus the purpose of this new category is really to show and encourage that you can re-wear pieces over and over again and look different every time.
