It's been a looong time since my last Designer Shoelight Post (last one was this) and it's a shame because there are so many fantastic shoe designers that we don't often hear about. I promise that I will do this more often!
Today's Shoelight is on Gaetano Perrone. He is an Italian designer who's had work experiences under household names like Antonio Berardi, Kenzo, Sergio Rossi, Gianvito Rossi, Alexander McQueen and Christian Dior. While working in Alexander McQueen, it was there he honed his skills and abilities to create walking pieces of art with attention to detail and lots of creativity. As head of the design department in Salvatorre Ferragamo, he learned to create products that are classic yet modern.
Feminine and strong - these are the attributes that's supposed to make anyone wearing it feel. The shoes have vibrant colors, rich textures and interesting details.
His collections have all these unusual but pretty designs like the white d'orsay pumps above. They look like they have pretty petals overlapping each other! Unique and still wearable. Shoe art, but also shoe-ready-to-wear! (haha pun may or may not have been intended! ;p)

Other than vibrant colors, he also makes use of neutrals and instead of making them look like the usual ones out there, he designs them into something fresh and modern. Definitely a shoe designer to watch out for! Click HERE to visit his website.
What do you guys think?
Wishing you all a shoe-filled weekend!
