Designer Shoelight...Aperlai

I have mentioned a few times in some of my posts throughout the blog that I might come up with a section where I will feature some shoe brands/designers that aren't as famous or as well known as the Louboutins, the Choos and the Blahniks. Basically shoe brands who are totally unknown or aren't mentioned and worshipped as much as the said brands.

I've decided to call this section the "Designer Shoelight" and will do it once a month. I know, I know its so corny and maybe silly, but this IS a shoe blog so most of everyhting here is really all about shoes, shoes and more shoes. (for some of you who didnt get it, it's spotlight with "shoe" instead of "spot" teehee) So I come up with corny names like these and withdrawal shoe-toms.

ANYWAY, to get to the point, this month's shoelight will be Aperlai.

I first wrote a post about Aperlai because I loved their shoes so much but didn't know anything about the brand (see post here.) I've been meaning to do the shoelight but never got around to it till now.

So it's a little bit hard to find a whole LOT of info about this brand. They have a website yes, and they're sold in a lot of online stores but they don't have an "about" link like most websites do where they talk about their beginnings and history and etc.

What I do know though, is that Aperlai was launced in 2009 by Srdjan Prodanovic, Alessandra Lanvin, and German designer Burak Uyan. They have a lot of unique designs that makes use of different architectural shapes, exotic skins and textures. According to Alexandra Lanvin, Aperlai is for the confident women and lists Katherine Hepburn, Edie Sedgewick and Sofia Loren as her style icons because they have strong identities and are spontaneous and charming. Today their designs have been spotted on these modern day icons/celebrities like Ginnifer Goodwin, Gwyneth Paltro, Kate Bosworth and Naomi Watts.

Here are some shoes from their fall winter 2011 collection that I really like or find unique.

Even though this collection is pretty young (started only in 2009) I can see that this will definitely be one of those brands to watch out for. They have pretty designs, are unique and they are all such statement shoes which I really love! If I had an unlimited budget, I would definitely stock up on them now! Their spring collection is so pretty too!

A Pretty Pair to Brighten Up Your Day...Manolo Blahnik Swan Embellished Pumps

I love these pumps! So pretty and with intricate details...

The white version of this pump has been featured in other blogs but I personally love this color more because the white one looks too much like a wedding shoe. This one has just the right amount of sparkle and this color will surely add a great pop of not just color but glamour to any outfit.

I really love bows with shoes (or shoes with bows)and I love how these look with gold details.

The red versions are pretty too but I think I like the black ones more. What do you guys think? Pretty shoes, no?

A Pretty Pair to Brighten Up Your Day,

It's Monday again! Actually its already Tuesday here in my country, but it's early morning so i figured most of the world is still on Monday. Haha. Anyways, I'm sorry for delivering this post late, but here is your weekly dosage of "A Pretty Pair to Brighten Up Your Day". And for two weeks in a row this one is actually, gasp another pair of flats!

This one is by Vince Camuto. Again it's another nude-ish pair and again it is sort of bejewelled, much like the Zanottis I featured last week. Don't worry, next week's pair will be different, I promise! But I swear I cant get enough of these dainty flats. They make feet looks so...well dainty and pretty!!! I have pretty big feet (well considering I live in an Asian country) so any shoe that makes my feet look delicate and smaller, I'm all up for it!

Shoe of the Day

Another shoe of the day post...

These are the shoes I wore out today. These are from my favorite local online shoe shoe, Feet for a Queen. For those living in the states, you can actually find these at Charlotte Russe. (they also have a sort of burgundy/berry version of these but i'm trying reaaaallly hard not to look coz I'll be tempted to spend again!)

I love these shoes! they remind me of Gucci. I love them because its reaally high and it has all these gold pipings around. PLUS it has an ankle strap! I love ankle straps. To top it all of the color is really gorgeous. Its a teal/deep dark green color.

Here is a closeup of the accessories I wore, Like I said I might be featuring accessories once in awhile coz I absolutely love them!

The necklace above is from one of the local designers in my city. It's called SEPA and I really love their necklaces and earrings! I have a few of their pieces and the one above is my absolute favorite. Really adds instant chic to any outfit!

All these bracelets are from India. My sister and my parents took a trip a few years ago and brought me back these beauties. They are also one of my absolute faves in my collection. Just look at the detail and the design! gorgeous!

Like I mentioned in the last "shoe of the day" post, I will rarely post outfit pics. But like I said f you want to see more outfit pics, please let me know!

Boutique 9 Sandals

I've mentioned that I love shoes with two tones, shoes with ankle straps and "delicate" shoes (by delicate i mean shoes that are NOT chunky and don't have platforms.)

These sandals by Boutique 9 have all characteristics mentioned above.

It's so pretty and delicate and I love it! There is a black version of these, but for me the beauty of this shoe are the colors that are all put together. The black version looks like any old strappy sandals. But these are special.

Lovely lace with the the black piped detail.

Gorgeous details ad materials..the design is so intricate and delicate up close! I bet these shoes leave all sorts of marks on your feet after you wear them! But who cares, they will be pretty marks!

Such a pretty color combination! The baby blue with the burnt orange. I love that the heel is thin ad gold.

It's the mesh trend again! this time paired with gorgeous pink cages and a pretty thin gold heel.

Giuseppe Zanotti Fishbone Heels

These are so gorgeous! I know some people are averse to eating fish, but what about wearing a fishbone on your feet??? A Zanotti no less!

Here is a closeup of the fishbone. They're sooo pretty!

Just wondering, were these the same heels that Samantha Jones wore in Sex and the City part 1? Remember that scene when she covered herself in sushi for Smith's Valentines present? I distinctly remember her shoes being of the fishbone variety also but I can't seem to find the photos.

Such pretty green detail! Plus i think the mesh/see through/plexiglass is in for spring/summer 2012...the mesh effect is actually so much better than the plastic/plexiglass in my opinion! it won't really show your sweaty feet the way plastic does!

Flats Galore, part 1

Lately I've been buying a lot of flats...

It's not that I'm sick of heels but I realize just how practical they are for running around town in for errands or if you just felt plain 'ol tired of heels for the day. Plus they come in so many pretty varieties! So if you're tired of heels for awhile, then don't be afraid to dress down in flats.. they're so pretty! Here a re a few the ones I bought lately..

I would like to focus on these few flats, they come from a brand that I particularly love and support, Suelas. (Actually all but one flat above are Suelas!)

Suelas was started by one of my friends. Their concept was for flats to be flattened, folded and rolled! basically flats that are comfy and easy to carry around in just incase you get tired with our heels and are ready for a switch-up.

These are one of their later models in which they tied up with blogger Laureen Uy of Break My Style. I find these flats so cute and so now with it's color blocking and studs. Its also kind of a loafer shoe but a really chic one at that.

This one I absolutely LOVE this because its so pretty and delicate..I love the chain ankle strap and this color. I've actually been looking this color for a long time. If I don't want to wear the chain then I can just take it out and wear them as is.

Some Lovely Bershka Shoes...On Sale!!!

There's nothing I love more than good quality, stylish and affordable shoes. Bershka, a high street Spanish brand delivers all those qualities in their shoes. While browsing their site, I was delighted to find out that a lot of their pretty shoes were on sale! Here are a few of my favorites!

Some silver/metallic peetoe pump. Love the chunky heel and the texture of the shoe.

I love these peeptoes slash maryjanes! I mostly love it for the details in the back part and the little gold piping you can see towards the front part of the shoe.

These pumps I absolutely LOVE because of that little gold detail in front. You think that it is just an ordinary black pump but then when you turn, it is a really, really chic pump!

The color combination and textures of this pump is awesome. The price is awesome too, 16 euros! whoa! get it NOW!

OMG. I'm in love. Like seriously in love...

Gosh, aren't they soooo pretty??? These are Vionnet. It has all elements that I love: it's a delicate shoe, it has interesting details, the color is unique and gorgeous plus i love the shape of the toe, not to pointy but not too round either. Just dainty and perfect! I also love that the other side of the shoe is not totally covered, it has these curves and pretty straps! siiiighhh...

Shoe of the day

These are the shoes that I wore today for Sunday Church:

These are by Bershka. It's a Spanish high street brand. I love all kinds of nude shoes!

I wore it with a bright pink dress with puffed and detailed sleeves.

I shop everywhere and that includes local department stores with clothes that have no brand/label. So this dress is one of those label-less dress. Sorry could not give credit to whoever!

Max Kibardin Pumps

I don't really know who Max Kibardin is, or what his other designs are like but now I sure am excited to find out more about this designer after seeing this pair:

I found these here. This is another shoe where I can actually take studs. (not a big fan of studs to be honest). I love that the studs are sprinkled around in two places of the shoe. Also love it together with that bit of mesh!

I'm going to be doing posts on Shoe designer/brands to take note of and for sure Max Kibardin will be one of them. Stay tuned!

I love a good ankle strap shoe. This particular one from Giambattista Valli is unique plus I have a hunch that they will look really sexy when worn as its nude and dainty.

This glitter pump is by Gianvito Rossi (he's Sergio Rossi's brother by the way, wrote a post about one of his shoes a long time ago, here). I love this pump because the glitter is so subtle and the shape of the pump reminds me of the Pigalle pumps that Louboutin does. I found these here.

I have decided to start a weekly blog post called Weird Shoe Wednesdays. Haha, I know I'm being weird but this being a shoe blog, I guess I need to write about ALL kinds of shoes and this includes the ugly side of shoes and not all gorgeousness...whut! Am I even making sense? ANYWAYS, reasons and issues aside, i will be giving my readers a weekly dose of weird/ugly. So here is my first pair for Weird Shoe Wednesday:

This is Philip Lim. I actually love a lot of Philim Lim shoes, dont get me wrong. He has a lot of fantastic ones but this, well just not one of my favorites.

I'm NOT claiming to be an expert on what looks good and what looks ugly, but I DO know what I like and don't like and lets just say this shoe makes it to my top 5 list of DONTs. How can it be pretty? I mean just LOOK at it...well, I think the heel height is actually okay but the rest of the shoe..never mind! if you DO like it, I wont judge you! haha...here is where I found it in case you are interested.

Amazing Cougar Shoes

When I say cougar, I literally mean cougar, the animal. Not cougar the woman who hits on younger men. Haha...Here is a beautiful shoe by Charlotte Olympia which has a cougar on it.

Are they hot or not???I personally love them! One usually sees the cougars on necklaces, cuffs or rings - this is the first time I've seen it on a shoe and they are fabulous! I also love the red color and the ribbon that ties on the ankle.

Here is another pair of pretties to brighten up your dreary Monday :)

Usually my "A Pretty Pair To Brighten Up Your Day" posts are of shoes that have bows or glitter, so this is a bit of a departure (which is good because I don't want to be redundant in posting shoes!). Anyway I find these really pretty because of the detailing in the back.The flower is so pretty and I love how it's lined in silver. SO gorgeous and I can definitely see these in my feet!

Topshop Cherry Sandals

How would you like a cute pair of shoes with a cherry on top?

I love that the cherry, which is usually in a red color is in a sort of metallic ball with green leaves. Not your usual cherry on top, I would say. The velvet material of the shoe doesn't hurt either and normally i'm not into the lucite heel but on this pair, the green plastic doesn't look so bad.

New Babies

Finally my shoe orders arrived in the mail last Thursday! It was also the perfect day because forever 21 just opened here in my little city (all 2800 glorious square meters of it) and i had just come home from a mini shopping spree when I came home to these:

Wrote about these shoes in my withrawal shoetoms post, I also got the leopard pumps! Soo happy I was able to get most of the pairs in that post.

I love the color combinations of this shoe and the glitter. I love that the glitter isn't so in-your-face glittery. They're kind of subtle. Right after I first wrote about these shoes, I thought, oh no! These look like Christian Louboutin knockoffs!I normally don't buy knockoffs that look EXACTLY like the original ones but if a lot of other high street brands are doing a similar design then I guess its safe to own a pair.

These are by Liam Fahy, Found in his website. I don't know much about this designer. I only know that he is a rather young designer (born 1984!) and he does not have a lot of shoes up in his site. Here the link if you want to know more about the designer.

Aren't they soooo pretty??? I love, love the bow and the satin material. I can't decide which one is prettier, the pink or the blue. The black ones are pretty too if you aren't into the vivid colors.

This is such a sexy pair of sandals! I know I'm going straight to the point but I love the structure and heel of this Choos! They also have this awesome metallic blue color which reminds me of Sex and the city days...

If you look closely at the sandals you can see that there are details. It says in the description its 'crushed metallic'. I think I would be pretty crushed if I don't own a pair of these!

Wearing Fall on Your Feet...

What better way to start your fall by wearing it on your heels? Fall usually reminds us all of leaves falling in beautiful rich colors like red, bronze, brown, and orange. They look so pretty all over the ground or falling slowly to the ground. Now I know I live in a tropical country, thus we do not have such thing as fall but I have experienced this wonderful time of the year back when I lived in Paris a few years ago.

Anyway, back to my point. Don't you think these B Brian Atwoods look like you would be wearing fall on your feet?

Not only do they have leaves on it, it has this bronzy sheen all over it to make it feel more special and pretty! I love the heel and the placement of the strap in its uppers!

Nude is the new black

We all know that in every girls wardrobe, black is a crucial staple. Not just in clothes, but in shoes as well. Almost every girl has at least a pair of black pumps, black peeptoes, black ballet flats, black ballet shoes, black strappy shoes and so on and so on.

However, a few years ago came the explosion of the nude shoes. Suddenly owning a pair of nude shoes became de rigeur for every girl. And why not??? Nude shoes go with almost anything you wear, be it a bold red dress a printed one piee and even the classic LBD. Plus, nude shoes elongate your legs and make it look thinner and sexier. Therefore, I think nude is the new black. It is a MUST for everyone.

I've classified the kind of nude shoes we should own (or aspire to own). This is just a little guide if you're looking for those perfect nude shoe : be it a pump, a peetoe, flats, booties or those 'special' nude shoes that don't really fall into any of those categories I mentioned. All these shoes are in different price ranges depending on your budget.

Wonderful Discounted Shoes

Lately I've been finding myself on theoutnet.com lately, as seen in my last two posts here and here.

I discovered quite a few shoes at a discounted price which are really pretty. I'm not sure what season they're from, but hey i'm not really one to buy shoes just because they're IN now. I buy them because they're pretty!

Though, these designer babies are discounted, I still find them rather expensive because I do not earn in dollars or pounds. Wait, what am I talking about? I don't even earn anything in the first place, i'm still unemployed! haha. Well for those of you out there who DO earn in said currencies, here are some shoes worth checking out:

These are by Lara Bohinc. I've never heard of this designer and judging from all the other Lara Bohinc shoes available at the outnet, this is a brand worth looking into. Expect a post about this designer soon.

These Marc Jacob Shoes i absolutely LOVE because of the snake that coils around the leg as the ankle straps. Isn't this so gorgeous???I love the combination of the gold and red also. These shoes may not look so high but it is actually 4.5 inches, which makes me love this even more!

These are Vouelle. Another brand I have not heard of (but they sound vaguely familiar) and one brand that I will feature as soon as I get all the details! This shoe will transition to Spring 2012 because it has all the trends as seen in the spring 2012 runways: pointy toed, hints of plexiglass and the white pump!

Daniele Michetti. I was going to say that I have not heard of this designer, but come to think of it, I may have come across this brand in some other blog awhile back...And I remembered a lot of gorgeous shoes from this brand! This pair itself, I find really cool and unique. It's edgy and tribal and just really cool! This would have been great in a nude or light brown color too!

Jimmy Choo Hologram Shoe

It says on the description : Now you see it, now you don't!

Basically my knowledge of a "hologram" is limited to hologram Lisa Frank stickers. The ones where at first you think its just a blank silver sticker but when you move it around, there's actually a picture of an animal in it! Though I'm not sure what the effects will be if you move around this shoe, i'm hoping they will be as whimsical and surprising as the hologram sticker. They look pretty nice already and I'm dying to see how they look when worn! I love the mesh with all those colors!

So do you guys spot any animals or creatures in the close-up? hahaha

I know most of you out there are transitioning to fall and are slowly pulling out the booties from out of your closets.

Sadly, I cannot relate to that feeling because I live in a tropical country and we have no such thing as fall and winter.

New Two-tones

Oh no she didn't...she bought another pair of shoes even if she wasn't supposed to! Ooops...I mean me actually...

But how could I not???As mentioned in this post, I just recently bought a pair of two tone shoes that I was gonna share to you soon. A lot of two tone shoes are either in black and gold or black and nude.The ones I got were black and light purple. Voila, here they are:

These babies are from Charles and Keith.I Really love them! At first I wasn't so sure about the structure and placement of the heel but then I realized, why not try something new? A lot of pointy stiletto pumps have the same kind of heel and structure anyway, so why not get something unique.

Remember these zara pumps that was one of the most talked about and featured Zara shoe everywhere last season? What I loved about that shoe was that the whole pump didn't close totally - there was an opened part in the side. While, sadly I didn't get to buy those particular shoes, I am doubly happy with my new Charles and Keith find because it has sort of the same concept as the Zara one, The opened pump. Plus the added bonus of the wonderful color combination!

* For some of you who do not know,Charles and Keth is a Singaporean brand. I'm not sure if they are heard of in Europe and the USA. The have a website, but the last time I checked, they were still updating it. Here is the link.

So here's a pretty pair of shoes to brighten up your day:

I love the glitter with the velvet bow and ankle strap! I really want them ( ok I think every shoe I feature here I want, but seriously i really, reaaaallly want them!) I love that there's black velvet piping on the edges, it balances out the overall look of the shoe and keeps it from looking too glittery.

As mentioned in this post i did a few weeks back, I absolutely love two tone shoes.

I found anther GORGEOUS pair in neimanmarcus.com (lots of shoe eye candy there by the way). This pair is by Stella McCartney.

What do you do when you put an ankle strap, the colors nude and black, some 4 inch stiletto and a quilted insole? Result: fab,fab shoe. Such simple attributes to a shoe, yet the outcome is something so gorgeous. And yes the shoe really does have a quilted insole, so this pair must be pretty comfy:

Emilio Pucci Eggplant Shoes

I call these Emilio Pucci's 'eggplant shoes' because of its color. (But maybe they're more on the barney purple color? haha whatever)

Are they not fabulous? Not only do I love the color, I also love the combination of the suede with the satin straps. Plus those little tassels are to die for. A lovely 'edgy' shoe that isn't chunky.

I really like these Roberto Cavalli ss 2012 shoes but they kind of remind me of the shoes that Christian Siriano did for fall 2010.

NEW SHOES

Just a quick break from posting about all those Spring/Summer 2011 shoes...

I finally got one of the pairs of shoes that I was lusting for in this post. I am soooo happy because:

1.) I haven't bought a new pair of shoes since the first week f august and this finally satisfied what I call my 'withdrawal shoetoms'

2.) They are gorgeous, I love the color and it fits perfectly!

Narciso Rodriguez

I love the light colors, grey with white and then a dark brown with white. Love the style and the height!

Prada

I did an entry a few months ago about these Jeremy Scott for Adidas shoes and they had wings! And so do these Pradas-only difference is: they are girlier and more glamorous ofcourse! Love them!

There were so many pretty color combinations and designs, I had a hard time choosing which photos to upload. Isn't that wedge just awesome? They look like little flames coming out of your heel!

Dolce and Gabbana

There were so many different styles of shoes in this collection - from velvet mary janes to strappy heels with plexiglass to edgy open toe laced booties. This collection however, kinda confirms that plexiglass will most probably be in next season since so many designers are doing them. Also another thing that will be big is the mary jane! Marc Jacobs did some of them and now we see some here. I love the nude ones!

Marni

I didnt really like all the heels in Marni for this season, i just like these spectator heels and the color combination of the white and red. They also had a lot f spectator mary janes, speaking of the trend!

Mary Katrantzou

As mentioned in my Gucci ss2012 post, I'm really looking forward to seeing more "delicate" shoes for this season. By "delicate", I mean shoes that are not chunky and don't have platforms. Just beautiful shoes with straps, details and color combinations. These shoes in Mary Katrantzou are a perfect example: strappy stilettos with studs on plexiglas (again!) and pretty textures with different color combinations. I don't know too much about this designer and whether somebody else designed the shoes for her runway presentation?

Some Spring 2012 shoes

So here are some Spring/Summer 2012 shoes that caught my eye:

Derek Lam:

I love these three that I selected. I think pointy shoes just might be 'in' this season. The white ones above just looks so clean and perfectly shaped. I love the way they did the 'caged' sandal. I also adore the color combinations of the wedge, so pretty.

Donna Karan:

There were some pretty interesting wedges at Donna Karan. Not only did their wedges have holes in them, the designs on them were pretty detailed and intricate (they kind of remind me of furniture, haha) I love the textures and the designs and combinations of materials like garter and snakes skin as seen in the first picture. I loved the wedge on the second picture. I also love all the ankle straps crisscrossing in the last picture.

Fendi:

I actually wasn't too sold on the shoes at Fendi because of the heel but I love how colorful and pretty and dainty the designs are...again i love all the ankle straps crossing over, will probably also be a trend this spring.

Oscar de la Renta:

So in the first picture, I really like to how the front part of the shoe looks like but the it turns out to be a wedge. Eugh. I think that particular shoe we've already seen in seasons past and already trickled down to knockoffs, I just wish it was in stiletto form because it looks so ordinary as a wedge. I absolutely LOVE the second shoe, love the design and again we see the pointy shoe. The third picture, I wasn't so convinced at first when I saw it in black and white but then when I saw the pink one, i immediately loved how it look. As what Garance Dore mentioned in her blog, this season will probably see a lot of the 'plexiglass' shoe or transparent shoe, whatever you want to call it and I couldn't agree with her more - saw a lot more of that trend in other designers.

So whew this was a long post! Still more spring 2012 shoes that caught my eye to come- fashion week is not over yet! But for now I shall leave you with these since my eyes are getting blurry from using the computer too much. Let me know what you think about these shoes!

SPRING 2012: GUCCI

I am IN LOVE with these Gucci Shoes as seen in the Spring 2012 runway of the brand.

The other day, while I was reviewing my shoe collection..I decided I had too many shoes with platforms at the sole. I decided I was getting sick of it and was ready for more 'delicate' shoes and less chunky shoes. Well these Guccis are a perfect example of 'delicate' shoes. No chunks, no platforms just beautiful material and texture, a delicate pretty chain and some stiletto heels.

I have a feeling that we will be seeing more delicate shoes this season the pictures that I have gathered on the shows so far are the lesser chunky ones of the season. So excited to see more especially from Milan and Paris.!

As mentioned in a previous Miu Miu post, I love shoes with a different and interesting heel.

I never really found a Nicholas Kirkwood pair that I really like, but here is one that caught my eye.

In the description, the color says 'teal and bordeaux' Love it! This is great color combination! I also love the square-ish shape of the heel, the shape is kind of like my Christian Siriano for Payless pair featured here.

I especially love these two tones by Christian Loboutin.

Whats not the love about this shoe? The shape is perfect. The heel is perfect. love the cut-outs in the back and i especially love the combination of the gold and black tones. (Find them here)

My sister actually has a Topshop pair that is also in the gold and black two tone combination:

Of course, it's nowhere as nice as the Loubs but I think its still a pretty satisfactory pair of a gold capped shoe. Conveniently my sister left it here at home so I might be able to get some use out of them...

Manolo Blahnik Diva boots

When I saw these Manolok Blahnik booties, the first thought that came to my mind was: 'It's so Diva like!" I imagine Cruella Deville (is this the right spelling?) will look perfectly at home with these. But who says we cant wear them? I think all of us have this hidden or inner diva and super glam side. I know I do!! Sadly, I live in a tropical country so I'd like to imagine that I will be wearing these boots if ever there was winter here.

Withdrawal Shoe-toms

So I mentioned in passing that I have just recently quit my job. Which means no more recurring paydays every twice a month. Which also means no buying new shoes for awhile. Ok i'm such a liar, i've been buying nothing but shoes since I resigned two months ago. However I came to my senses and stopped around the first week of August realizing I don't have any paydays coming up for the time being. I'm not as senseless as to spend all my savings!

Soooo, about a week ago..i started having what I call ''Withdrawal Shoe-toms" So bad are my cravings for new shoes :o Here are a few pairs I'm lusting after: (that I hope to get sooner or later when i have money hehe)

Leopard print pumps from sassyspot. I like this particular pair because of the shape.

The next few pairs are from a site i just discovered feet for a queen. The pictures that I grabbed from them have descriptions thats why they look like these:

The first pair above looks very similar to a pair that the shoeperwoman mentioned in one of her post. The one mentioned was from New Look and I remember wanting them so bad and sadly thinking I couldn't buy it because I do not live in the UK. But good news is I found these! so Yay!

For the second shoe, I love the green color - dont have this color in my shoe closet yet.

And for the last pair, I so love the colour combinations plus the fact that its all glittery and gorgeous!

So what's not to love about this outrageous shoe? The fans, the swarovski crystals sewed onto the fans, the criscross straps, the black and nude color combination (again a favorite of mine). The only outrageous thing to hate about this shoe is the price which is about two grand. Another whoa.

Fall 2011 : ZARA

I can't say it enough - but I love,love LOVE shoes from Zara. Everytime my sister plans a trip hope from Madrid, Spain where she lives, I always make it a point to scour the zara website and look for pretty shoes I want so I can tell her to buy it for me. Most recently she got me this pair (which I have already feautred in this blog twice but im gonna feature it again because the picture I took of it did not do justice because they are just tooooo pretty:

The cap tone booties. Dont you just love the cap toe in snakeskin? Plus the combination of the red and black velvet. This is the PERFECT ankle boot for fall I would think.

I have mentioned numerous times in this blog that I absolutely love two toned shoes. This is no exception, plus this a open toed version.

OMG, how can you not love these butterfly booties??? They are sooo pretty, just look at the back side of the boot! The heel and butterflies and all! Need I say more???

Shoe Goal - results

On the last week of July, I wrote a post about setting a shoe goal for myself (read about it here)

Basically, the goal is to pick out four pairs of shoes that i hardly ever wear and come up with outfits specifically for the shoe and just wear all those four pairs for a week. The challenge ended on thursday and before I show the results I would like to summarize my learnings:

1.) Wearing ONLY four pairs of shoes in a whole week is HARD. My sister arrived from Spain and brought me two lovelies (see in this post) and i couldnt wear them all week. Plus I also had to buy a new pair of shoes that same week from Payless. Yikes, unworn shoes everywhere!!! :0

2.) When you put your mind to it, you CAN come up with a LOT of different outfit ideas for shoes you deem 'difficult' to pair with.

3.) I learned that I have to control myself buying shoes. I got quite a few new pairs and will share them in another post soon but i have realized that I think that I will not be buying anymore new pairs for months and instead maybe do more of these challenges.

4.) I was able to wear ALL pairs of shoes the whole week, some of them even twice, but then a week is really too long to only wear only four pairs of shoes. I had to wear other pairs too. What I did was I created more outfits for the shoes even if I didnt actually wear them, you know just to prove to myself that i CAN wear all of those whoe and there ARE outfits out there meant for these shoes.

So here is the documentation of my challenge:

Among all three outfits, I wore two. Leftmost one was to go to the airport to pick up my sister and the last one for dinner out with friends. The Middle picture, I think I have worn a similar outfit already, the one and only time I wore these shoes before.

Both of these outfits I really wore,the left one to go to lunch and the right one to go see a friend.

The one on the left I wore, to go grocery shopping and see a friend. The one on the right I created and will wear soon.

I was only able to wear one outfit from this bunch, the leftmost one to go to church. rest assured though that the next two ones WILL be worn WITH the shoes.

So there you have it! Shoe challenge DONE. and I have reached my goal. I must say, I am quite pleased with myself.I think I will be doing another batch soon, what do you think? This time I think I will increase the number of pairs for a week. Will keep y'all posted!

NEW SHOES - BERSHKA AND ZARA

My sister arrived from Madrid, Spain a few days ago and she got me these goodies:

Nude heels from Bershka. Its not that clear in the photo because of the way I angled it, but this shoe is really high! I love it! I love the combination of the nude with the wooden blocked heel.

Jelly Shoes from Zara. I had mentioned in a previous post that I wanted these and I finally got them! I mentioned that they look like something giovanna battaglia would wear, and I cannot wait to find the perfect LWD to wear them with! They look SO pretty when you wear them.I love the combination of black, nude and silver studs all together.

I loved my shoe filled weekend!

So, for those who read my blog, I have a shoe goal that I set for myself. I'm happy to announce that I have worn ALL of the shoes. BUT the week is not over yet so I still have to come out with outfits to pair with those shoes. Stay tuned for more updates!

Shoe Goal - A challenge to myself

While looking at my shoe collection earlier this morning, I realized that I have quite a number pairs of shoes. A lot actually compared to most people..

I also realized that I have a lot of gorgeous shoes that I haven't worn a lot of times. I even have a couple of pairs that I have NOT worn since I bought it! :o A few posts back, I wrote about the shoperwoman challenge and said that I was too late to join. To give a rundown of the shoe challenge by the shoeperwoman, you have to wear all of your shoes within one year, those that remain unworn must be given away. This is a great way to really maximize wearing all your shoes. Sadly, I was not able to join the challenge because its too late to catch up.

Soooo, this morning I came up with my own goal. Since the shoeperwoman challenge is still like, 6 months to go before its over and I can join, I will try to devise a way to wear those shoes i've hardly worn.

This is how it goes:

I will select 4 pairs of shoes that i HARDLY wore since I bought them. These four shoes will also be the only pairs of shoes I can wear the whole week.

Here are the fours pairs I chose, with a description and the number of times I wore it in its lifetime:

Pretty Ballerina flats that I got from Korea. Have worn this only twice since I got it last April.

These sandals have only been worn once since I bought it on February this year, and they were worn with flared pants, thus its beauty couldn't even be seen that time.

Sam Edelman pumps, bought on sale last December 2010, only worn once.

Beautiful cobalt blue heels, also only worn once since I bought last November 2009!!!

Whoa, I really am bad! How could I have just let all these shoes sit there not being worn? :o I haven't bought a pair of shoes the whole month and I won't until I complete this batch and maybe one or two more batches!

Fall 2011 : Balenciaga

I will be doing a series of fall 2011 shoes that I like. Much like what I did with Spring/Summer 2011 shoes.

Although I know its late to be showing you the shoes, spring/summer 2012 will be coming soon so i better get this underway.

First up: Balenciaga

I loved these pairs, especially in blue:

I love how they mixed the velvet and animal skin texture.

I also like the design on these ones but i wish they were LESS pointier...

Take a look at the burgundy colored ones below...See what i mean about it being too pointy? ech...but the black and white ones above are really gorgeous though..

ASOS Bow Shoes

I am loving these bow pumps from Asos.

As I have mentioned over numerous posts throughout this blog, i really, really love shoes with bows in them.

This pair is no exception.

I love the white piping detail and the contrast of the white bow against the black.

They have it in nude as well but in my opinion, i like the black ones more.

I normally don't post outfit pics - this will be one of the rare times that I will.

Also wanted to show my new Longchamp - I got this on sale. Unbelievable price and undelievable bag! Isnt it pretty? I love the color of the bag! And the shape and the leather too!

I was browsing through Bakers Shoes and I found that Halston has a lower priced line. Or is it a collaboration with Bakers? I'm not sure, but I am loving this pair:

It may look like another ordinary neutral toned strappy shoe, but check out how it looks like when worn:

Dont they look fabulous when? They are worn by the model in the middle by the way. I love how theres a strap that crosses over the foot but leaves one side of the foot bare. Its kind of Jill sander-ish dont you think? Other than that, I love the satin and that detail in the heels.

Beach Shoes - What to Pack

Just squeezing in a quick post before I have to get up at 430 AM. I'm leaving for a little weekend get away - just to a little town not far from my own where my friends and i will be soaking up the sun at the beach during the day and partying up at night.

So what shoes do I pack? My friend who is from that town says not to get over dressed since its very chill, dress code will be like shorts or flip-flops asides from swimwear. So that means no wearing heels the whole weekend. I'm really NOT a flip-flop girl, the only time i ever wear slippers is in my bedroom or out on the beach. I decided resort chic will be the theme for the weekend so I have narrowed down my options to these two flat sandals:

Red Open flats from Zara, with a cork sole that tie around the ankle:

The other ones are random gold sandals I found in my room. These arent even mine, theyre actually my sister's. But hey, she's not here so I can use them right?

They'r really pretty right? I hope my sister forgets about them!

NEW SHOES - Seychelles

So, as mentioned in a previous post, I was at my country's capital on the weekend and I got myself a couple of pretties. here is another one:

This is a brand called Seychelles. They carry these at a local department store. Here is their website if you're curious.

These are sooo pretty when they are worn. I don't think my sucky pictures did them justice. Also I feel like I should have been wearing red toe polish when I took this picture - would have gone better with the shoe.

Its not that clear in the photos but the black part of the shoe actually has a snakeskin-like texture. That plus the gold piping detail plus the stones all complement very nicely. Oh and did I mention they were on sale???

RIVER ISLAND

I wish I lived in the UK. Well actually, one of the reasons for that statement is River Island.

This is a UK brand that I heard about from one of my favorite shoe blogs, shoeperwoman. She always has some river Island Shoes posted in her blog entries. Anyways, I decided to check out their site and almost wish that I hadn't. Imagine, loads of gorgeous shoes to choose from at an affordable price no less! Too bad I can't shop there :o

Anyway here are some of my picks, for those of you who CAN shop there or those who dont mind paying an exorbitant shipping price/tax if you dont live in the UK, Enjoy:

NEW SHOES - Michael Antonio

So I went to the country's capital and stocked up on some shoes. Here is one of the pairs that I bought:

These are Michael Antonio. I am soooo glad I found these! I was already contemplating on another pair of nude wedges and was all set to buy it when these came along! Good thing patience has its rewards!

i love this for the height, the texture and as what my sister said it really looks like 'high fashion shoes'

They look better in person! (ok, i am talking like shoes are human beings) But yeah, I suck at taking pics.

I found the blue version online, but couldnt find mine. Oh well, wanted to show a better picture of the shoe in the color I chose, but its ok. They're really awesome! Cant wait to wear them.

They remind me of something Carrie Bradshaw used to wear. I've been watching Sex and The City episodes again - can't get enough of that show even if its been like what, 6 years since they wrapped up that show?

Anyway, I think they call this style d'orsay. Don't ask me why but i've noted that that is what they call shoes that has a back part and a front part and the middle of the foot is bare. Did I explain it just right? Oh well, if nobody got it, then just look at the shoe. Pretty isn't it? And so delicate. This would look great on a dress or cropped pants. This shoe can be found here.

I'm not much of an online shopper because I prefer to see the things I buy in its actual state.

There is one online shop though that i frequent, called sassyspot. They have a variety of shoes to choose from and the quality and prices are not bad.

Was browsing, and there were so many shoes I saw that I didn't notice before! I mean, I might have seen them before because these albums were uploaded months ago but I didn't realize the potential of a lot of the pairs. I hope they still have the ones I want! :o

Here are some of my picks:

I've always wanted a giraffe printed shoe - since its not such a common animal print like the leopard and zebra.

This is a gorgeous pair of...are they boots? either way, I LOVE the print on them, they had a black and white version of this which were great too...

These shoes kind of remind me of Olivia Palermo's shoes, which she wore at some event. I love Olivia's Style by the way. If you love her style too, check out this blog and this one too for your Olivia Palermo Fix.

Sigh..anyway back to those shoes, I'm quitting my job soon and will be unemployed so no more paydays to look forward to to buy shoes! :o Better hurry and find another job!!!

I got my self these leopard print shoes a week or two ago:

I love the combintion of the animal print, the black velvet and the gold piping in between. I also love that its chunky, but not tooooooo chunky that it looks dowdy.

I originally wanted the zebra print version of these but upon inspection of both, i found the leopard version a lot better because it was, how do you say hairy. Hahaha sounds gross right? bu what i mean is, the texture is better because the zebra ones, they look like they were just painted on(see link) actually in the pictures the zebras look really great but I wasnt so impressed with the actual real live pair. But now i'm thinking I should get the zebra ones too but then I have to remind myself to stop overbuying shoes or else I will be bankrupt. okay I am rambling here. Vogue Daily Shoes

One of my favorite websites to browse through is vogue.com and I especially loooove their 5 days, 5 looks, 1 girl section where they feature people who work at vogue on what they wear for five days.

Anyway, the main reason for this post is really to talk about the two pairs of shoes that I loved which I saw in Sylvanna Ward Durrett's (Vogue's Special Events Editor) feature:

From afar, they look like any normal nude heels but up close, they look like these:

Don't you just looooove the fact that the heel has this little nude edging at the bottom? this shoe is just so, so perfect. They are by Nina Ricci.

The other one is by Isabel Marant:

As I have mentioned constantly in this blog, I really love two tone shoes - especially if they are black and white. These ones are so unique because of the ankle strap. I didn't know Isabel Marant had any shoes, maybe I better go check out her website and research on more pretty shoes.

It's always so interesting to see what people who are in the fashion industry wear every day in their normal lives.

Which Zara shoe do I get???

Which of these Zara shoes do I get?

So my sister is coming home soon and I always ask her to buy me anything form Zara (Well almost always SHOES from Zara) since its cheaper over there.

I have narrowed down my choices to these two options:

These shoes kind of remind me of dancing shoes but I find them really pretty, the combination of nude plus black with some glitter thrown in is great. Plus the T-strap. I imagine Giovanna Battaglia (one of my favorite style icons) wearing these with a short white dress, and I can imagine myself wearing them too! Haha

The second pair:

I love it because its so colorful - love the color combination. Color blocking is so on trend right now, but Ill admit I wasn't completely sold on this shoe until I saw the front part : the t-strap that starts halfway through the foot plus the double bars with color blocking. Loves.

Also saw a polka dotted peep toe pair that were too cute to NOT post:

So what do you suggest I get?? I'd love to hear your opinion :)

SHOE ENVY: JEREMY SCOTT FOR ADIDAS

I am so NOT a sneaker/rubber shoes person! Unless I have to exercise (which I hardly do) then I wear athletic shoes. So I avoid shoe brands like Nike, Adidas, Reebok and etc...

But then, gasp I actually LOVE a pair from Adidas! My sister's boyfriend gave it to her and I totally, totally want my own pair:

Okay, okay. Theyre not excatly sneakers (which is why I LOVE them) They are more like ballet flats. With WINGS. How cool and adorable is that???

This is a collaboration of Jeremy Scott and Adidas. Im not sure who Jeremy Scott is but his designs are great! Im thinking of buying the pink pair so that it wont be the same as my sister's. They also have a black pair with polka dots in them.

I Can't wait to get my own pair and fly away with them!!! Teehee!

SNAKE SHOES

When I mean snake shoes, i literally mean snake shoes.

I say this because, for one, they are shaped like a snake and two, its made out of real snakeskin.

The other day, I was at my friends house for her son's baptism dinner and I noticed that her neighbor had a tarp sign that said they had some sandals for sale. So being the thick persons we were, we invited ourselves inside the house to check them out.

The snake sandals were soooo pretty. The straps are made of genuine snake skin and the sole was leather too. I love how the body of the snake coils around as a strap to your legs. They also had it in brown, black, pink and red. My friend got the brown ones. Unfortunately, I dont have more pictures because the owner doesn't have any website. All she had was an email address and I forgot to take it down. Ill ask my friend again and put it up here.

I can't believe that in my last few posts I just said I had to slow down on buying shoes. And at my friend's house, there I was expecting not to spend any money and I end up shopping at her next door neighbors house! Sigh. Oh well, they are a pretty and unique pair. And a good buy too!

SHOES FOR BREAKFAST

OK, I am literally having shoes for breakfast...

I'm eating my breakfast now, and the laptop is right infront of me and Im reading up on, well shoes.

Here are the shoes I'm Having for breakfast:

Alaias, found on yoox.com. I wish the arch of the shoe was better, but I relly like the color and the design. It's snake skin and has a leather sole. It will probably look better when worn.

Brian Atwood. The arch in this pair is a lot better, and I'm already aching with sadness at the thought of how GORGEOUS this will look on one's feet.And the reason why I'm sad is because I can't have them. Oh well, for those who can afford, they are at yoox.com

I'm also reading the shoperwoman's blog. You guys should check her blog out - she has this thing called the "Shoe Challenge" wherein you have exactly one year to try to wear all pairs of your shoes to "save them" . At the end of the year, you have to say bye-bye to the shoes that haven't been worn.

This kind of challenge is great because it relly challenges you to get a wear out of ALL of your shoes. I know most of us, even if we ha ve a gazillion pairs, always go back to this one or two pair of shoes and wear it almost everyday.

This challenge will make you wear a totally different pair everyday!!! Because if you don't, then you will lose very man y lovely pairs of shoes at the end of the year :(

Sadly I was not ble to join the challenge because I found out about it too late. The second reason, is a really sad reason. My work has uniforms. And we have to wear boring black shoes to match with the uniforms. Sigh, can you imagine how sad this is? But I'm leaving this job soon so hopefully I will not have a uniform in my next job.

Aperlai Boots

Awhile back, I wrote an entry about this brand, Aperlai. They have some beautiful shoes.

This boot from their fall/winter collection is pretty unique. If we actually had a winter season here in my country and i had all the moola, I would get this!

The shape is great and I love the two-tone factor. Not your usual boot. So unique, but to me still classic. I would still wear this several winters to come.

These arrived in the mail the other day from my favorite online shoe shop.

I have mentioned several times that I absolutely adore bows on shoes and this pair is no exception.

They were even higher than I expected, but all the better. Can't wait to wear them.

It's actually just a plain pump and the heel doesnt look that high but it's a nice shape for a shoe and I rally looove the color. I don't have a pair of lilac shoes in my shoe closet. What do you think???

I think I have to slow down a bit though on the shoe buying, must have bought like 12 pairs already since the year started and its only April, but Howell....let's see how long i can last. Haha.

Just wanted to share these lovely Chrsitian Siriano for Payless Shoes.

I got it a month ago in my country's capital. (We dont have Payless yet in my little city, but we will soon, yipeee!!!)

I'll have to say though that the reason why I was so excited that Payless was coming to the country was because I found out Christian Siriano was designing for them. About a year ago I read some blog who talked about it and featured pictures of his shoes. Several researches for pictures of his shoes made we want pairs designed by him. i really like his designs!

Payless also has a collaboration with Lela and Rose and Alice + Olivia, but in my opinion I liked Siriano's shoes the best.

KOREA SHOES

So I just got back from a little vacation with the family - a week in South Korea, most precisely Jeju Island and Busan.

In Busan, we went to one of the famous markets, gukje market which I immensely enjoyed. Busan is the largest city after their capital Seoul. Our hotel was situated right beside Lotte Department Store and Shinsegae department Store. Shinsegae happened to be the largest department store in the world. This got me really excited because hello???two huge shopping complexes right beside us?However I didnt buy much from here as these two departments were suuuuper high end and the contents of my wallets were NOT suuuper high end. hehe. It was in this market where I struck gold.

Anyway, to get straight to the point (since this is not a travel blog) Korea is one place where it is rather hard to find shoes. why?? Because most women there had tiny feet. I wear a size 8 and a half or 9. sometimes I even go up to 10 depending where I buy shoes. So whats a girl who's obsessed with shoes and has big feet in a country with all small shoe sizes to do? Not buy shoes and concentrate on buying other things instead. NOT!

Despite the limited sizes, I managed to scrape a few pairs from the market to add to my collection.

First up: A cotton candy pink pair of heels:

You can even detach the thingy from it ( I call it a thingy because I do not know what to call it, its not a bow nor a rose):

The next two pairs were from a shoe store my own mother discovered while my sister and I were browsing at another less spectacular shoe store. This store , called Spur has a gorgeous selection of flats. They are a Korean Brand and the most unbelievable thing? they had sizes. Bought my self two pairs of pretties:

Sparkly Flats, which I have been dying to buy since I saw a random korean wearing it: (there were lots of different variations all over but this one looks less over produced)

Love the color combination for this pair! first time Ive seen this color combination in shoes and the outcome is gorgeous:

I love this shoe shop! Too bad I couldn't find a website for them!

So there you have it my 3 new pretties:

They all look so pretty together, and can I say so Korean. I noticed over there they loved sparklys, polka dots and candy colored combinations. Love how it looks all so girly!

Hmmmm, now to find a space for them in my shoe rack.. :o
